Sevika is one of the strongest fighters in Zaun and a fascinating secondary character in Arcane, the animated series based on League of Legends. She brings a fierce and powerful energy to the show, standing out in both fight scenes and through her intriguing personal story arc.
Sevika’s Storyline in Arcane Season 1
Sevika’s origins in the show begin at The Last Drop, Vander’s bar located in Zaun’s undercity, where she is first seen mingling with fellow Zaunites. However, after Vi, Powder, Claggor, and Mylo rob Hextech gems from Jayce in the first episode, Sevika grows impatient with Vander’s policy of maintaining peace between Zaun and Piltover. While Vander seeks to uphold the uneasy peace he negotiated with Piltover’s Sheriff Grayson, Silco, a former comrade from Zaun’s liberation movement, wants to fight for Zaun’s freedom from Piltover’s rule.
Despite Vander’s attempts to convince Sevika to stay with him, she ultimately joins Silco, who has the resources to potentially secure Zaun’s independence. At the end of Act 1, Sevika pays the price for her loyalty to Silco, sacrificing her left arm to save him from a bomb thrown by Powder.
Although many viewers felt angry at Sevika for betraying Vander, her loyalty has always been with Zaun, rather than Vander personally. She is motivated by her desire for a free Zaun, and Silco’s goals align closely with her own. After Vander’s death, Sevika becomes Silco’s second-in-command and gains a powerful cybernetic prosthetic arm, enhanced by the substance known as Shimmer.
Memorable Scenes
One of the most memorable one-on-one fights in Arcane is between Sevika and Vi in Episode 5, titled “Everybody Wants To Be My Enemy.” This scene became one of the most popular of the series due to its intensity and high stakes. Sevika remains loyal to Silco until the end of Season 1, despite conflicts with the Chem-Barons and her wariness of Jinx, who often disrupts Silco’s plans with her unpredictable behavior.
What Will Happen to Sevika in Arcane Season 2?
Following Silco’s death, many fans were surprised that Sevika continued working with Jinx. Although her loyalty to Zaun is unquestionable, her alliance with Jinx seems tenuous at best. Jinx, now one of Piltover’s most wanted criminals for launching a missile at the City Council, is being hunted in Season 2, and the Chem-Barons are eager to turn her over to the authorities.
In Season 2, Episode 2, titled “Watch It All Burn,” Sevika stands her ground, refusing to betray Jinx. She tells the Chem-Barons, “We don’t hand over our people.” Later, she joins forces with Jinx to confront the Chem-Barons, and in a climactic battle, fights alongside Jinx against Vi and Caitlyn at the end of Act 1.
