Giants, a Spanish esports team, has recently entered into a partnership with SPORTFIVE, an agency specialised in sports and esports marketing.
The main task of SPORTFIVE will be to enhance Giants’ sponsorship capabilities by focusing on three segments: naming rights, main sponsorship, and naming sponsorship for Giants’ Malaga headquarters. Giants, founded in 2008, is a prominent esports organisation in the Spanish market and participates in VALORANT’s new VCT EMEA League, in addition to holding rosters in other games such as Tekken and Street Fighter.
SPORTFIVE, which also collaborates with other esports brands including Fnatic, NYXL, and Gen.G, as well as with traditional sports teams such as Juventus, Atletico Madrid, and the Los Angeles Lakers, will leverage its network and expertise to find more lucrative partnerships for Giants. The aim is to elevate the commercial strategy of the club and consolidate future partnerships both nationally and internationally. If SPORTFIVE and Giants succeed in finding a naming rights partner, it would not be the first time that Giants has changed its name, as it was called ‘Vodafone Giants’ from 2018 to 2021 through a partnership with Vodafone.
Giants’ current portfolio already includes several partners such as Sony Music, KitKat, FITCHIN, and DIGI.
José Ramón Díaz, CEO and Co-owner of Giants, expressed his enthusiasm regarding the partnership, saying that “This type of partnership adds a lot of value to the company, you only have to see the scale of the partners they have worked with. In addition, they have great knowledge of esports, its idiosyncrasies, and the agents that make it up, which is a big plus. It is a great opportunity that will bring great results.”
