Ex-CS:GO Pro Launches Coaching Initiative Ahead of Counter-Strike 2 Release

Former CS:GO Pro Introduces Life Mind Games Coaching Program Prior to Counter-Strike 2‘s Debut

Mathieu “Maniac” Quiquerez, a former CS:GO professional player and now an analyst for major tournaments, is embarking on a new venture in his esports career as the release of Counter-Strike 2 approaches this summer. He has established Life Mind Games, a coaching program developed in partnership with his longtime friend and “certified business and life coach” Guillaume Jolidon.

Life Mind Games will initially accept a limited number of students and will not solely focus on the in-game elements, according to Maniac’s announcement. The coaching program will cost 120 euros (around $132) per hour.

Maniac emphasized that to improve, one must be willing to work on both their gameplay and personal development. “Counter-Strike is way more than just clicking on a mouse. It tests your mental as much as your skill. It is our wish to guide you on that path, through honesty and respect, to become a better player, competitor, and teammate.”

ImageThroughout his CS:GO career, Maniac predominantly played for French teams, including LDLC and Titan. Although he didn’t win many titles, he reached the semifinals of the ESL One Cologne Major in August 2014 with LDLC, where they narrowly lost to Ninjas in Pyjamas, who went on to defeat Fnatic in the grand finals to claim their first and only Major trophy.

Maniac first ventured into professional coaching with Envy from January to June 2016, helping them secure victory in the $80,000 Global Esports Cup Season 1 in February 2016. After this brief coaching stint, he returned to playing until his retirement in May 2018, at which point he became a talent member for top CS:GO events. He also holds a degree in psychology.

Those interested in participating in Life Mind Games’ coaching sessions with Maniac and Jolidon can contact the project via email. It remains uncertain whether the lessons will begin during CS2’s limited test, which features only Dust II, or in CS:GO.
